Happy New Year :)

12/10/2010 (10:45pm)

DAY NINE: HOW WE HOPE OUR FUTURE WILL LOOK LIKE.

Roshni:

I hope that I get into the University of Michigan and become successful there. I want to get into a good medical school and become a wonderful doctor. I hope that my friends and family stay with me through the thick and thin.
Honestly, this ‘day’ thing is almost similar to something else we’ve written, so I think I’ll stop here.

Mauli:

I hope that I go to the University of Michigan for college next fall. I hope I become a surgeon one day and help people like I always imagined. I hope that my friends always remain close with me in the future. I hope for a brighter future, but who knows what tomorrow actually brings?

12/6/2010 (7:36pm)

DAY EIGHT: A MOMENT (OR MOMENTS) WE WERE MOST SATISFIED IN OUR LIVES.

Mauli:

I don’t think I can actually remember one specific day I’ve felt most satisfied. Truth is, I’m satisfied with my life just the way it is. I have an amazing family, the best friends out there, and basically everything I need in my life to be happy. I’m thankful for everything and wouldn’t ask for anything else :)

Roshni:

Each day, I am always satisfied about something, whether my day is going well or not. I couldn’t ask for anything more. However, there are two things that happened this year that I feel/felt the most accomplished about. I’ll honestly never forget how I felt on those two days. (I decided to write a lot for this one :O)

1. I wanted to audition for the Rochester Musicale to see if I could get scholarship  by playing different pieces on the flute memorized and not memorized, sight-reading, and taking a theory test. I was SO nervous. After my audition, I thought about every possible thing I might have done wrong. I thought I failed myself and everybody around me, and I thought I had blown one of the greatest opportunities to receive a lot of money. I was incapable of focusing for the rest of the day, and I lay on my bed for hours thinking of how I wouldn’t get anything and how I was just a failure. However, at 11:00 pm, I receive a phone call saying that I had gotten first place and had received the highest amount of money. It was the best ending to my awful day, and I could hardly contain my excitement. I was just really proud of myself, and I was happy to make my family proud too :)

2. The second thing was being able to get the SCHS Culture Show to run when NOBODY thought it would be possible. It felt so good to prove everybody wrong. While we didn’t have much of an audience with such a great show, I know that as president this year, we will be a success :)

DAY SEVEN: OUR ZODIAC SIGNS + HOW THEY DESCRIBE US.

Roshni:

As a Libra, I am very diplomatic. In arguments, I am able to look at both sides of an argument and come to a compromise. The libra’s symbol is the balance/scale, so it makes sense that I make logical decisions in most of my debates/arguments. Apparently, I have some kind of captivating smile and charm, but who knows if that’s true hahaha. Libras love luxurious things, and that is the truth, no matter how much I want to deny it. I am very trusting and express my emotions openly. Of course, Libras are talkative as well, but also take the time to listen to others as well. I love being around others, and have an easy time making new friends because it’s a part of my nature. I am very indecisive, which is a weakness of the libra, and although I make diplomatic decisions, I struggle to make them at first. Even so, I am very affectionate and loving, and I try to make the best of everything. This is basically my libra personality - in a nutshell :)

Mauli:

Leos are known to be really ambitious. In my case, this is true. Once I set my mind on something, I don’t stop until I accomplish my goal. I always try my best to encourage my friends even though I don’t usually believe in myself. I’m really generous and loyal. I try to do anything I possibly can to make sure my friends are always happy. I have a really big heart and I usually trust people too easily which isn’t always the a good thing. I’m really enthusiastic and cheerful most of the time. I absolutely hate being unhappy and coincidentally this is one of the traits of a Leo. I can be vain at times, but it’s usually just as a joke. Leos are really creative. Although I may not be creative in the art form, there are those rare occasions when I come up with creative ideas. I like my independence and I don’t really like when people interfere in my life. I can be really stubborn and melodramatic at times. Good thing my zodiac sign pretty much perfectly describes me :)

11/29/2010 (9:04pm)

DAY FIVE: a time we thought about ending our lives. NOT.

Roshni:

There has not been one instance where I have even THOUGHT of ending my life. There is reason I am here on earth, and there is plenty of time for everything to fall in place. Sure, I have gotten overwhelmed with school and have gotten hurt several times, but nothing is more worth it than living life itself. I could never put that burden on my family and friends, and I would never want to end my life when there is so much more to live for. I love everything that I have, and I want to cherish those things for the rest of my life.

Mauli:

There have been a few times where I thought that everyone would be better off without me, but I don’t think I would ever be able to end my life just because of that. Death is basically the easy way out. I believe that living actually shows that a person is strong enough to move on even through the hard times. There are many people out there who are fighting for their lives, and taking away a perfectly healthy life for some stupid reason would just be really stupid. Life is way too precious to ever waste like that.

11/28/2010 (10:12pm) 1 note

DAY FOUR: OUR VIEWS ON RELIGION.

Mauli:

Personally, I don’t think it really matters what religion a person believes in. The morals learned from it, however, are what really matter. I’m a Hindu and throughout my 17 years of life, I have noticed that religion is one of the most important things in life. Religion shapes a person’s character for the better. Ever since I was little, my parents taught me that God resides within me as well as others therefore it is important to treat everyone with respect. I think that is one of the greatest lessons I have learned from religion :)

Roshni:

Well, I am a Hindu and a proud Hindu, at that :) I respect every aspect of my religion, and I am devoted to God - in my own way. I pray every night before I sleep, and God is always there with me no matter what. I am not the most religious person out there, but I make it a point to always remember God, regardless of where I am. Religion is a very significant part of my life and always will be. My parents have always taught me little lessons about God and I will carry those lessons with me for the rest of my life. I love going to the Temple every Sunday because I simply enjoy the atmosphere and like being with God and my family at the same time.

11/24/2010 (9:16pm)

DAY THREE: OUR VIEWS ON DRUGS AND ALCOHOL.

Roshni:

Alcohol isn’t a big deal. If people drink it in moderation, I don’t care what is going on. I have friends that drink and I really don’t have an issue with it. However, doing drugs is irresponsible and can have negative consequences. I think it is pathetic to always have the necessity to smoke and drink, and feel that there is no better way to be satisfied. I hate when people constantly smoke outside and never think ONCE about the people around them. I can barely breathe when that smell surrounds me and honestly, it’s a terrible smell. I will never have the need for these things, and I know that I’m always going to stay pure, no matter what:)

Mauli:

My views on drugs and alcohol. Well, I don’t really see the point of them. I mean all they really do is ruin a person’s life. It doesn’t really bother me if people drink, because I know a ton of my friends in college drink. I only think it’s bad to drink like everyday. The one only thing that really bugs me is when people smoke in public, because they are being absolutely inconsiderate to whoever is around them. If you really want to smoke, go do it where there aren’t people around. That’s it. I just know I will never resort to drugs and alcohol in my life :)

11/21/2010 (2:54pm)

DAY TWO: Where you’d like to be in 10 years.

Mauli:

Ten years from now, I’d be 27. I would most likely be in med school by then. I would like to be married, and live in Ann Arbor. You knoooooow. I imagine that all my friends will still be with me, because we’re inseparable. In ten years, I imagine myself being proud of all the hard work I put into high school and knowing that hard work does eventually pay off :)

Roshni:

Wow, ten years from now. That is so long. Regardless, I hope that at that point, I have succeeded in whatever I want to become and have started a career that I am willing to pursue for the rest of my life. I hope that all my friends and family are by my side, keeping me strong like they are now. I hope that whatever road I take, it leads me to success and happiness :)

11/20/2010 (10:17pm)

DAY ONE: your current relationship. if single discuss how the single life is.

Roshni:

Hm, so I just got out of a relationship, and it’s hard to say what I’m really feeling. I’m not one to fall hard quickly, but yet, I am happpy and somewhat content. I don’t really try to figure out what’s going on with myself, but I have wonderful friends and a wonderful family. Dance keeps me going too, and with all that, I can’t help but always smile. I’m enjoying the single life, and just for the record, I’m happily married to Rachu and I have no complaints ;) 3 years strong ♥

Mauli:

Basically, I’m married to the best guy in the world - Rohan Arepally. Okay, jokes aside… um, I actually like being single. There’s no pressure whatsoever, and it’s just nice knowing I’m not tied down to anyone :)
